Boule

Boule

(or Pétanque for our French friends)

The game of Boule has come to Cattistock. In fact, it came to the village in 2019, when a Boule Court was made in the Open Spaces area, opposite the Fox and Hounds.Since then the game has been played regularly by the men and women of Cattistock, either as an occasional personal challenge between friends, or as part of the weekly get-together: ladies at 5.00 on Thursdays and the men at 4.00 on Fridays – weather permitting.

A Boules competition has also become a highlight during Cattistock’s annual Fete week.

In 2024, a further investment was made to our Boule Court, to expand the court size and to upgrade the surface. As usual, the task was undertaken by a team of volunteers from across village and these pictures show the team’s efforts and the finished product – something they can all be proud of.

So, if you are interested, get yourself a set of Boule balls and come along on a Thursday or Friday evening and join in a friendly game, we will pleased to see you.
